The annual JROTC-hosted blood drive was held on the first day of spring. Ironically, it also snowed that day. However, this didn’t stop the people from giving blood to save people’s lives. There are typically two blood drives at the school each year; one is hosted by Stu Co, and one is hosted by JROTC. These blood drives tend to go over very well, and the volunteers from these clubs work very hard to get people signed in and ready to give. They also are there to pass out the snacks. This is the gravy job because you can eat the snacks too, but this job is important because people need food and sugar after they give blood to get their blood sugar up.

Words from Colonel Beckman: “In all, 58 units of blood were provided during the Blood Drive. A special thanks to the English Teacher Squad (Ms. Tibbs, Ms. Cook, Ms. Ivy, Ms. Humphrey, and Mr. Maas) for assisting with the blood drive process.”
