The Ladycats blocking the ball. (Allie Bloom)

The Fredericktown Ladycat’s season has been great so far! They have won 27 games this season. On October 7, 2021 they played a tough game against North County Raiders. They were going back and forth the whole night. Their defense was very good, and they never let up. The other team was giving them some tough competition. With that being said the Ladycats were very excited to come out with the win!

With this season being successful, the Ladycat volleyball players had a lot to say. I asked Sophomore Keira Francis what her favorite part of the season was. “My favorite parts of the season were the bus rides to and from our games.” Keira was also asked what her favorite spot to serve is, “My favorite spot to serve is in the back left corner.” Some advice Keira has for upcoming freshman is, “Don’t be timid with the upperclassmen.”

With such a great season as the Ladycats had this year, it is very bittersweet as this is one of their last home games. The Ladycats have really shown Fredericktown what they are made of. They worked very well as a team, not only with communication but keeping each other up when they messed up. With only two seniors this year, they had a big role. Being the oldest girls on the team, the other girls on the team look up to them. They did a great job of being leaders.
