DECA Districts: Fredericktown Brings Down the House

Nolan Hovis, Editor

On a normal DECA Districts competition, we would go to SEMO to take a 100-question test and do a role play. At this point our school would have to head back before awards, but this year was different. This year, the week before we went to SEMO, the test was opened  on an online testing program. We were able to take our tests before we went to the formal role-play event. This allowed us to stay for the awards, so we knew if we qualified for state competition that day.

This year was one for the books. Fredericktown brought home seven—yes, seven—first place medals, four second place medals, and four third place medals. All the first- and second-place holders get to advance to state competition and try for internationals.

The following are the state qualifiers and their placings:

1st – Carter Corcino                        2nd – William Arras
