Leah Lindsey and Anne White are excited to cheer

This year we have 2 seniors on our Basketball Cheerleading team: Leah Lindsey and Anne White. Unfortunately for these girls, this year will be their last for high school cheerleading.

To be a senior cheerleader, you have to be a leader, and these girls have what it takes to lead a whole team! Not only can they nail down their cheer routines, but they’ve got more spirit than anyone I know! I asked Anne White what her favorite part of cheer was this year. She replied, “Some of my favorite things about cheer were practicing new stunts and working as a team to make new cheers and, of course, doing bonding and going out to eat.” Anne also stated ” I’m so thankful for the girls I’ve met and gotten close with this year. I only wish I could’ve started sooner.”

I also asked her what her hopes were for the future cheer team; she replied, “I have high hopes for the cheer team in the future. As most people know, the cheer team hasn’t had a good reputation for a few years, and our coach is working so hard to turn that around and make the team look sharp and more respectable.” Anne told me a little about her coach, Katelyn Hudson. ” This was her first year coaching and she did amazing! I respect and admire her so much for all the work she puts into us girls and our team. She teaches first graders all day and still manages to give us 110%!” We are sad to see these girls go, but we hope they find bigger and better things beyond high school cheer.
