We may not have won the season, but we certainly had a season for wins. The Fredericktown Blackcats boy’s basketball team left many teams in the dust this season, including Bismarck, Kingston, and Valley Caledonia. Our boys beat all of these teams with a lead of more than 40 points each game. Scoring basket after basket, the team showed their hard work this season, winning eleven games. They also never lost by more than they won, the largest losing score gap around half of their smallest winning gap.

As for personal achievements this season, we have a few. Sadly, no one reached 1000 points, but senior Logan Winkelman came the closest with a whopping 982. Four awards were given out at the athletic banquet based on votes by members of the team: Seniors Noah Korokis and Dylan St. Clair received team captain awards, Logan Winkelman received the character athlete award, and sophomore Nate Miller received the best teammate award. I would also like to add a very special congratulations to Logan Winkelman for getting onto 2nd team all conference and making the MAAA all star team!

The boy’s basketball team worked extremely hard this season, practicing every day. They each brought their all to the games, and a close season it sure was. Every Fredericktown fan is looking forward to next season and wishing this year’s seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors.
