Layni Kinkead

Addie Shetley and Corgan Gerler at Missouri State FFA.

Allie Bloom, Writer

A few weekends ago, some select students went to Columbia, Missouri. Sophomores Addie Shetley and Corgan Gerler were two of the lucky people that got to attend Missouri State FFA. I had the chance to interview them and this is what they said about their weekend in Columbia:

Addie Shetley

“What did you make it to state for?”

“I went to State to compete in soils.”

“What was the one thing you looked forward to when going to state?”

“One reason I was really looking forward to going to state was to meet new people and make new friends. If I didn’t go to State, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to make these connections.”

Corgan Gerler

“What did you make it to state for?”

“I went to State for Agronomy.” Agronomy is the science of soil management and crop production.

“What was the one thing you looked forward to when going to state?”

“Like Addie, I was excited as well to get the opportunity to go to State and meet new people.”

At State, Senior Layni Kinkead got first place! Everyone who went to the state competition did a great job. All of the Agriculture teachers were very proud of how far each and every one of them have come!
