The 2022-23 boys basketball season has been filled with many wins and losses. On February 13th, the boys played St. Vincent.

At the beginning of the junior varsity game, the Blackcats were winning by around 10 points. By halftime of the game, the score was 24-20. The junior varsity boys played very well but unfortunately lost. The final score was 39-51. Before the varsity game, the seniors were escorted out onto the court by parents and given gifts for senior night. Andrew Starkey was also congratulated for scoring his 1,500th point! The start of the varsity game went by pretty fast. The Blackcats’ score at halftime was 22-35. As the boys kept on fighting, the crowd was cheering them on. Many good shots were made by Mark Heine, Andrew Starkey, Riley Fraire, Zander Stephens, Garrett Marler, Leeandrea Catchings, and Jordan Collier. Unfortunately, we lost by 9 points. The final score was 52-61.

At halftime of the varsity game, the Gold Dusters performed their senior dance, which was choreographed by Ryan Nelson and Brianna Noble. So far, this has been their 4th or 5th dance that they have performed this season. The crowd loved it, and it brought everyone’s spirits up.

This was a tough game. Our boys played their best and gained more experience. The Gold Dusters dance was amazing as well. As we are nearing the end of the season, don’t forget to come watch and support our Gold Dusters and our Blackcats!
