Coachella: A White Girls Dream

Liz Hinkle, Writer

Coachella is one of the most popular music festivals in the world. Many aspire to go and attend one day; celebrities are often honored to go. Last year’s main performer was the one and only Beyonce. Many writers published articles saying that she changed Coachella forever. Coachella brings in a lot of revenue every year in multiple ways. The first way is the most obvious: the wrist bands to get into the festival. These wrist bands have to be activated through the Coachella app. Theses wrist bands are valid for the whole weekend (three days).

There is so much more to Coachella then what most people think; along with seeing the most popular artist and socializing, there are other activities. There’s a vintage market, the Coachella ferris wheel, art studios, the “connection” lounge, and a place to buy merch. The “Do Lab” is a popular thing to do at Coachella and is considered one of the activities you shouldn’t miss. In the Do Lab a DJ is on stage and anyone is invited to jump up there with him to spray the audience with a water hose! This is most popular at mid-day when it is the hottest. Brands have the opportunity to open their own tent. The Sephora tent is one that was really popular last year. Sephora set up their own tent and offered a place for ladies to touch up their makeup, get free makeovers, and get away with some free beauty samples!

There is so much to do at Coachella, so no wonder it is one of the world’s biggest festivals. Coachella just recently announced who will be performing this year including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, DJ Snake, and Childish Gambino. The entire lineup can be found on the festival’s official website (linked below). If you ever get the chance to go to Coachella, I highly recommend it.
