Track: From Districts to Sectionals and Now State

On Saturday, May 11th our track team went to districts in St. Genevieve. Medal winners from this meet are the following:
Alex Sikes- 3rd in javelin with an all-conference throw of 104 ft.
Malachi Kyle- 1st in triple jump
Blaine Fingers- 2nd in the 200 and 400-meter dash
Evan Burrows- 2nd in javelin
Grant Shankle- 3rd in triple jump and long jump
Blaine, Malachi, Logan Yancey and Skylar Holland- 3rd 4×200-meter relay team
Grant, Skylar, Logan and Blaine- 3rd 4×400-meter relay team
Patrick Sikes- 4th in 110 high hurdles
These runners and throwers moved on to sectionals. Here are the results for the sectional meet at Hillsboro.
Alex Sikes- 2nd in javelin with a school record throw of 111 ft.
Patrick Sikes- 3rd in the 110 high hurdles
Blaine Fingers- 4th in the 400-meter dash and 3rd in the 200-meter dash
Alex, Patrick and Blaine will all compete in the state competition this weekend. Be sure to cheer them on and wish them luck!
