The Fredericktown High School Blackcats boys basketball team put on a show to remember as they faced off against Central High School in one of the most intense games of the season. From the first buzzer to the last, Blackcats controlled the pace and energy of the game, finishing with a big 105-54 victory that had the entire gym on its feet.
This match-up has always been a tough one for Fredericktown. Year after year, Central has been a challenging opponent, and we are often unable to beat them. But this season marked a turning point. The Fredericktown boys came into the game hungry, confident, and ready to change the expected outcome of the game. They did just that. The boys beat Central last year, but it’s been a long time since they’ve beaten them by that many. The Blackats didn’t just win, they made a statement. The energy inside the gym was unreal. Fredericktown’s student section was loud and up on their feet, cheering every play from start to finish, filling the stands with the game theme of business attire, loud chants, and nonstop noise. Every steal, point, and layup was met with loud applause and screams that echoed throughout the gym. The energy from all the fans fueled the boys, pushing them to play harder and with confidence.
Whether it was driving to the basket, hitting shots from anywhere on the court, or leading and uplifting one another on the court, the boys were ready to play. Leading in points for the game was Tucker Reutzel with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. Close behind was Mason Cureton with 17 points; he kept the momentum rolling with strong offensive play and hustle on both ends of the court. Fredericktown’s offense was nearly unstoppable. They had quick ball movement, aggressive plays, and consistent scoring the whole night that left Central struggling to keep up. Defensively, the Blackcats locked in, forcing turnovers and quickly turning them into easy points. By halftime the game was in Fredericktown’s favor. This big win is a reflection of the kind of season the Blackats are having so far. With a current record of 10-8, the team continues to prove its love for the game. Their chemistry, effort, and determination were on full display in this game, showing just how far they have come. Join everyone this Friday, February 6th, 2026, for an intense game against the Farmington Knights boys basketball team.
