The FHS and KABMS drama clubs have been working diligently this school year, having combined in the fall for the production of Shrek: The Musical, Jr. and splitting up once again to each do their own things for the spring semester.
FHS Drama club is led by Mrs. Cristel Schrum, an English language arts teacher at Fredericktown Alternative Learning Campus. The club was planning to have a production of the play Fireflies; however, as there were some unfortunate circumstances regarding the cast, Mrs. Schrum has decided to cancel that production. That being said, they are still planning to have an event on April 24.
KABMS Drama club is led by Mrs. Allie Ammons and Mrs. Sarah Stacy. They are currently preparing for their production of Alice in Wonderland. Their performance date is Friday, May 15, in the KABMS auditorium.
Some students who were involved with the productions of Frozen: The Musical and Shrek: The Musical, Jr. are attending the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis in April to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as a celebration of their hard work in these past two musicals.
As for the future of the drama clubs, they are planning to combine once again in the spring of the 2026-2027 school year for Spongebob: The Musical. Students from both the high school and middle school will audition for the opportunity to play some fan-favorite characters from the hit television series. Students planning to audition are already picking out their songs to master so that they can hopefully be successful at the auditions!
