As the softball season winds down with 18 wins and 6 losses, the girls are extremely proud of their achievements this year, simultaneously realizing their time with the seniors has slowly come to an end.
There were three seniors for the 2025 softball season: Miley Wengler, Adrienne Cox, and Becca Mangold. To them it was more than just a game; it was a chapter of their lives coming to a close. For the seniors on the team, the final games of the season were filled with bittersweet emotions. This was the last time they would step onto the field with their high school team, leaving behind a legacy and carrying with them memories that would last a lifetime.
For the younger players, the departure of the seniors feels like the end of an era. The bonds they’ve formed go far beyond the field, with many considering the seniors some of their best friends. They’ll miss the funny moments on and off the field, the shared jokes in the dugout, and the support that the seniors always offered. The leadership provided by these three players helped shape the underclassmen, showing them what it truly means to be a dedicated athlete. Now, as the seniors prepare to move on, the underclassmen feel both gratitude for their guidance and sadness at the prospect of playing next season without them.

Miley, a dedicated senior and standout first baseman, beat the RBI record with 34 RBI’s total. She has embraced her final year on the high school softball team with a lot of excitement and nostalgia. As she stepped onto the field, she reflected on the countless hours of practice, the friendships forged, and the memories made over the years. Miley has been a huge asset to the team, providing leadership and a competitive spirit. This season holds special significance for her, as she not only aims to leave her mark on the field but also cherishes every moment with her teammates, knowing this will be her last time wearing her Ladycats uniform.

Becca, who plays centerfield, had an awesome final season with the Ladycats, filled with many emotions. As she walked off the field for the last time, she reflected on the journey that has brought her to this final moment, filled with unforgettable games and cherished moments with her girls. This year, she made every moment count, balancing her drive for victory with the gratitude for the experiences and bonds she has formed along the way. With her heart set on finishing strong, she reminded her teammates that their shared love for the game is what truly makes this last season special.

Adrienne, the third baseman, is also entering her final season with the high school softball team, a year full of excitement and reflection. She has consistently been a defensive powerhouse, often making drastic plays. This season carries extra significance for her, as she aims to leave a lasting impact while remembering the bonds and memories created on and off the field. With each game, Adrienne is committed to giving her all, driven by a love for the game and a desire to finish her high school career on a high note, celebrating her achievements made during her time as a player.
Though this chapter is closing, the lessons and good times will stay with them and the team forever. The final score doesn’t define the game; the heart you play with does. Overall, our Ladycats softball team has had an outstanding season, they have made bonds that will last a lifetime, and the memories will be with them forever.
