The Fredericktown Lady Blackcats girls basketball team faced a challenging match-up on January 8, 2026, falling to Bismarck 41-57. Despite the loss, the girls still played a tough game, showing resilience and continuing to compete to keep up throughout the whole game.
Lauren Hale led the scoring efforts with 19 points, putting together a good offensive performance while continuing to create opportunities for her teammates to try to score. Brylie Allgier followed with 7 points, while Sydney Dunnahoo added another 6 points to help keep Fredericktown within reach of Bismarck. Lauren’s consistency continued to stand out, as she continues to average 45% shooting from the two-point range and 27% from beyond the arc this season.
The whole senior class has played an important role in all games this year, providing leadership on the floor. Lauryn Mell contributed with her ability to score inside, averaging 47% from the two-point range and 22% from the three-point range this season. Sydney Dunnahoo has also been another very reliable presence offensively, shooting an impressive 50% from the two-point range. Juliana Lunsford added effort on both ends of the court as well, continuing to develop her shooting as the season progresses.
Although the final score of the game did not fall in the Fredericktown girls’ favor, the game reflected the team’s determination and the steady contributions of all players and the senior leaders as they push forward through the season.
