FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a school club whose goal is to “promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.” The annual FCCLA banquet was held on April 24th, 2023. At the banquet, officers and their families were provided dinner while the ceremony was held.

New officers were sworn in, while events they went to over the school year were also discussed. The officers for the 2022-2023 school year were President Mattie Sitze, Vice President Kaylee Wagganer, Secretary Ella Clauser, Treasurer Madison Holland, Historian Brianna Robinson, Reporter Ava Kemp, and Male Representative Troy McGee.

Congratulations to the officers that were elected for the 2023-2024 school year; President Ella Clauser, 1st Vice President Ashley Avavlos-Ortiz, 2nd Vice President Gracie Davis, Secretary Emma McMillan, Treasurer Kaylee Wagganer, Reporter/Historian Mattie Sitze, and Male Representative Troy McGee.

The Fall Leadership Conference and the State Leadership Conference FCCLA attended was held at Tan-Tara Resort, Osage Beach. The members/officers got to go to different workshops and listen to different speakers while also interacting with officers and members from other chapters.

This club hosts several events throughout the year. Sweetheart and FHS Idol are included in those events. The officers work hard with planning these events and making sure that they go well. The Sweetheart Dance is held in mid February and FHS Idol is during the last week before Christmas break.

Ella Clauser, an officer in FCCLA, says, “There are many things that I enjoy about FCCLA. I really enjoy going on the trips and the wonderful memories that come along with it. I love meeting new people and making new friends. It has also strengthened my leadership skills in many ways.”
