Cross Country: The Off-Season

Cross Country is an all year sport, competing or not. These athletes are always running.

During the off season, all players have the option to participate in training. They can chose to go run with coach Garrity or not. It’s important for the runners to stay in shape all year so they don’t have as big of a struggle when the season starts back up the following year. It shows a lot of dedication and heart from the players when they show up. Especially when the weather is against them.

Often the players participating in the off season training run from the high school to the elementary school. This is about a 2-mile run one way depending on which route they take.

All this hard work is going to pay off, so be sure to catch up to ’em next year.
