As the season is coming to an end and graduation being around the corner, the seniors Gabbie McFadden, Ashley Avalos-Ortiz, and Ava Kemp only have a short period of time remaining as a Ladycat. Although this might be a tough ending for the seniors, they still made countless memories and claimed numerous victories on and with the team.
All the girls have been a part of the team for at least two years or more. They have made a huge impact and showed dedication throughout the season. Unfortunately, these girls have to say goodbye to FHS, but there are lots of things that are in store for them in the future. Lets recognize these girls as they are going to soon be graduates of FHS.
Gabbie McFadden is a senior and has been playing soccer since she was three years old. After high school she plans to attend college and obtain a degree in molecular biology. She will also be graduating high school with an associates degree. Gabbie plans to play soccer at MAC on a full ride scholarship. Gabbie’s favorite memory from soccer is when they went to the district championship game, when she was selected All-State and All-Region two years in a row, when she was selected All-Districts three years in a row, and when Lyndee Hinkle absolutely got on a girl’s case for forty seconds straight.
Ava Kemp has been playing soccer since her junior year. After high school Ava plans to get a bachelors in biology and become a conservationist. Ava’s favorite memory from soccer is when Gabbie got a red car and she screamed her name trying to get her to stop for like five minutes straight.
Our final senior, Ashley Avalos-Ortiz, has been playing soccer since second grade. After high school Ashley plans to attend MAC and graduate early with her associates of art in teaching degree and then transfer to SEMO to receive her bachelors in early elementary education. She wants to return to the Fredericktown School District as a kindergarten teacher. She plans on not playing soccer after high school and would rather focus on her family and education to speed up her educational career so she can fulfill her dreams of being a teacher as soon as possible.
